Its officially Summer! Bring on the long days, warm weather and…school holidays.

As the end of term draws nearer, the thought of what to do with your children for over a month off school can get overwhelming. Unfortunately, the weather doesn’t always play its part. Therefore, we thought of offering a few Play park options to keep in mind for a rainy day.

We had offered some Adult ‘outing’ options in our last Snapshot, so now…Parents, we have you covered!

1: Clowntown Children Activity & Play Centre

Unit 3 The Coppetts Centre, Finchley, London N12 0SH

Established in 1994, Clown Town is the largest and most popular Children’s Indoor Activity centre in North London. They also host children birthday parties throughout the year. In short, keep them in mind as a play park option for if your little one has a birthday over the holiday period. 

Clown Town is a safe, friendly and comfortable environment for children and adults. Their cafeteria offers a great choice of homemade dishes, including a few vegetarian and healthy options. As a result, you can make sure lunch isn’t something you have to prepare either.

2: Flipout, Brent Cross

Flip Out is a Worldwide family-focused leisure entertainment brand selling a trampoline and adventure park experience. Since 2015 the UK has pioneered the adventure style format to include slides, free running, inflatables and an assault course.

With the latest technology and incredible customer service Flipout is a great play park option for children and teens alike.

All their focus is on delivering a fun family experience from the minute you enter the park and creating memories that last a life time.

They are by far the biggest Play park in the UK and intend to continue until they are able to offer the Flip Out experience to family’s all around the globe.

3: Snakes & Ladders

Bursting with both indoor and outdoor play, Snakes and Ladders is fun for children of all ages and is so much more than just soft play.

There are so many things to do that your little ones will be occupied for the entire day. We know this does sound enticing, doesn’t it.

With a massive three-tier play frame, huge imagination play area, slides, climbs, tunnels, electric motorbikes and even an outdoor play area with bouncy pillows, this play park is a must on a rainy day.

4: Gambado Indoor Soft Play

5: Role 2 Play

Role2Play is an indoor child-friendly town where children can pretend to be whoever they want to be, whilst making sense of the world we live in.

Each play area is fully equipped to reflect the different parts of society that we live in. Truly a space that facilitates the little ones in playing make-believe.

This type of play would be suited to children who are independent walkers to aged 6, therefore please make sure your child would be able to partake in this setting.

Role play brings along a whole host of benefits and as much as the children are all having fun in these sessions, they are actually learning to.

Role2Play comprises of different parts of the community through well-thought-out play areas replicating cafes, supermarkets, medical centres, construction sites, and vets, all creatively put together.

6: Topsy Turvy World

Prince Charles Drive, Brent Cross, London NW4 3RW

Topsy Turvy World was founded in 2004 by Dulcie Rowe with the objective of providing a better quality of party and play facilities for the under 12s.

A new 12,000 sq ft purpose built stand-alone unit was constructed at Brent Cross Shopping Centre to house a large play structure with a café/restaurant facility and party rooms.

Topsy Turvy is now bigger and better than before, and will offer an new environment for the little ones to explore.

7: Burgess Park Woodland Play Area, Southwark, Greater London

New Church Road, Southwark Greater London SE5 7JJ

Burgess Park is one of London’s most extensive parkland green spaces covering approximately 14 acres.

An array of facilities are available, including a Large BMX Track, Cafe, Art installations, Barbecue area, Football pitches, Rugby Pitches, and a Lake, just to name a few.

To the Southeast of the park just off New Church Road is the wonderful Woodland Play park Area created by Duncan & Grove Ltd.

The design includes geometrically shaped structures and more natural, free-flowing timber pieces. The geometrical play structures are based around a series of dodecahedrons linked with bridges, balance ropes, net tunnels, balance beams, stepping poles, slides, fireman’s poles, climbing walls, and climbing nets.

Completely free to use, this natural park area is a great option for when the weather is good and you want an interactive and interesting day out for the entire family.

8: Hobbledown Heath – Opening 11th July

Howndslow, London

Climb, Explore, Discover! With this Play park option, you can scale wooden towers, explore underground tunnels and aerial walkways and climb to your heart’s content. 

There is a labyrinth of secret passages, hidden deep beneath the Village, emulating the passages to the Potenesia land in the Hobbledown book upon which the park is based.

In total, there are seven entrances and exits — don’t worry; you won’t get lost down there. But the tunnels are dark inside so they’re not suitable for under 5’s unless accompanied by an adult. 

The tunnels are only open on weekends and school holidays but the village itself is open all day, giving you plenty of time to explore this fantasy land.

9: Wildwood Adventures

Fancy a trip out of the city for a family adventure? Wildwood Adventures is an incredible option for 6+ age group, and even mom and dad can get involved…if you are brave enough.

One company, two great adventures. Wild Wood is owned and managed by Craggy Island, the company started in 2004 to provide the best in indoor climbing and based in Guildford, with another branch near Sutton in Surrey.

Wildwood owners incorporated thier background in rock climbing and their adventure businesses to design Wild Wood to be fun and exhilarating for all ages.

10: Chessington World of adventures

Chessington World of Adventures Resort now offers a theme park with over 40 rides and attractions a Zoo and SEALIFE centre with over 1000 animals, and an onsite Resort Hotel with 150 bedrooms. Shows and entertainment options that are jaw dropping
