An eco conscious community hub in Finland

One of Citycon’s latest developments, the new urban centre Lippulaiva, in Espoonlahti Finland is set to open in Spring 2022.

Lippulaiva will be hosting the largest geothermal heating and cooling facility for a commercial building in Europe. The Geothermal energy plant will generate carbon-free energy to meet almost the entire heating and cooling needs of the shopping centre.

Along with its impressive sustainability credentials the centre will host an array of tenants to address the daily needs and desires of the local residents – while always aiming at lifting the visitors’ mood and bringing joy to their everyday life.

The service offering will have a strong focus on groceries and necessity-driven retail, including health & beauty and casual fashion. There are plenty of public and private services and finger-licking-delicious food & beverage options.

The anchor tenants of the centre include the Espoonlahti regional library, kindergarten Pilke Playschool, fitness centre Elixia, K-Supermarket, Prisma, Lidl and Tokmanni. The new Espoonlahti metro station, bus terminal as well as eight residential towers will also be located in and around Lippulaiva.

The centre will host a wide range of well-known operators as well as new concepts to the Finnish market including Dosva Decor, a family-owned home décor company founded in 1995 and Chatime, an international tea chain from Taiwan, currently operating in 38 countries. As well as Lippulaiva’s restaurant world Koggi which is located on the street level of the centre. Koggi has eight restaurants with a mix of cuisines – Bites Burgers, Fafa’s, Fire Wok, Itsudemo, Kotipizza, Kung Food Panda, Momo & More and Pomo D'or Pasta & Pizza. In addition there will be more than ten eateries throughout the rest of Lippulaiva.
